Founder
Samuel L. McHargue
Tax experience meets hands-on software development.
Samuel has worked in tax at KPMG and other accounting firms. He knows the work that happens between client documents, tax software and the Excel workpapers that hold it together.
Alongside that accounting experience, Samuel’s longstanding interest in coding grew into a commitment to software development and AI. He founded Redbroch to put those interests to work together: building tools and helping firms integrate technology into the processes they already rely on.
He enjoys the technical work itself, from understanding how a model behaves to connecting systems and making a tool useful in practice. For clients, that means working directly with someone who can discuss a workpaper with the team and then build the software around it.
He studied at California Baptist University and took San Diego State's online coding bootcamp.

The name / Scottish architecture

An Iron Age, round, hollow-walled drystone building found in Scotland.
Brochs belong to Scotland's Iron Age. Historic Environment Scotland commonly dates examples to roughly 600 BC to AD 400, though construction and occupation varied by site. They were substantial places to live. Their roles in defense and displays of status remain debated; they were not simply medieval castles.
The name reflects our appreciation for thoughtful construction: individual parts fitted carefully into a whole. That is a standard we bring to software.
